As part of its plans to expand its manufacturing potential, Tony's Chocolonely has announced the acquisition of chocolate factory Althaea-De Laet Int.
According to the Dutch ethical brand, the move will allow it to "innovate faster and be more agile" in its "mission to make 100% slave-free chocolate the standard."
The acquisition allows Tony to evolve quicker and be more agile on the production level while scaling up its manufacturing capability by running its own factory to mold its exclusive chocolate bars as a result of the acquisition.
"We're thrilled to announce this acquisition. It's an exciting next step for Tony's Chocolonely as a fast-growing impact company that wants to change a whole industry from within and make 100% slave free the norm in chocolate," said Anne-Wil Dijkstra, Choco Co-Captain (COO) at Tony's Chocolonely.
