Deka Immobilien acquires the Booking.com headquarters

Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH has acquired the iconic Booking.com campus in Amsterdam's Oosterdokseiland through a sale and leaseback of its two funds, Deka-ImmobilienEuropa and WestInvest InterSelect. Booking.com's new campus will provide an inclusive, welcoming and sustainable work environment for more than 5,000 employees. At the same time, part of the ultra-modern building will become a public meeting place.

The new international headquarters of Booking.com, designed by UNSTUDIOS, is one of the largest city center projects in Western Europe, covering an area of approximately 72,500 square meters. The mixed-use building occupies more than a third of Oosterdokseiland. The Booking.com campus covers an area of 53,000 square meters. Other areas are used for apartments, public functions on the ground floor and parking for cars and bicycles.

Sustainability
This project has been important from the outset and it is hoped that a BREEAM Excellent rating will be achieved through this project. Significant innovative and sustainable design features of the campus are on-site renewable energy (solar panels on moss sedum roofs), connections to thermal energy storage systems, and careful development as smart buildings.
