Ireland-listed healthcare group Uniphar has acquired Dutch pharmaceutical services company BModesto Group for €75 million, including an upfront payment of €51 million.

Based in Lelystad, the company focuses primarily on pharmacy wholesale, but also provides a range of services to healthcare companies, pharmacies and hospitals, including clinical trial services and medical device distribution.

The company, which will become part of Uniphar's Product Access segment, generated EBITDA of €7.7 million. It expects to generate a return on capital employed of 12% to 15% over three years, "in line with Uniphar's target rate," the company said in a statement.

Uniphar chief executive Ger Rabbette said the acquisition was significant for the group and strengthened its "product access offerings in Europe and beyond".
