Van de Velde Packaging, a Belgian company focused on manufacturing products and services for the packaging industry, has acquired Goedkopekoffiebekers.nl (GKB), a Dutch manufacturer of cardboard coffee cups.
With a turnover of over €55 million, GKB is by far the market leader in the Benelux and is growing rapidly in other European countries including France and Germany. All coffee cups are produced at the company's own production facilities in the Netherlands and China. GKB stands for fast delivery of high-quality coffee cups at competitive prices and continuously invests in its state-of-the-art machinery. GKB will continue to serve customers in their usual way, and the current management team will continue to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company.
Demand for cardboard coffee cups is growing rapidly, driven by a shift from plastic to paper cups. By joining forces, GKB and Van De Velde Packaging Group aim to become Europe's largest manufacturer of cardboard coffee cups, with GKB taking the lead in the rollout from its brand new head office in Groningen.
