de Jong & Laan, backed by Waterland Private Equity, has announced its intended acquisition of CROP accountants & adviseurs in what marks the largest transaction in de Jong & Laan’s history to date.
The combination strengthens de Jong & Laan’s position in the Dutch mid-market accounting and advisory sector and expands the group to approximately 1,700 employees and an estimated €250 million in revenue across roughly 35 offices nationwide.
Founded in 1965, CROP has built a strong position in Central Netherlands with offices in Utrecht, Amersfoort, Arnhem, Ede and Hoofddorp. The firm serves SMEs and family-owned businesses through a broad range of services including audit & assurance, tax, legal, HR, corporate finance and advisory.
The transaction further accelerates de Jong & Laan’s buy-and-build strategy following its partnership with Waterland Private Equity in 2022. In particular, the acquisition significantly strengthens the group’s audit & assurance capabilities and expands its presence in the Randstad and Central Netherlands.
CROP will initially continue operating as a standalone business unit, while both organisations work towards further operational integration over time. Active CROP partners are expected to reinvest into the combined group.
The transaction remains subject to approval by the Dutch competition authority (ACM).
